Our idea has always been to connect more with the people in our creative universe who we haven’t had the chance to really talk with yet. The inspiration came together with Johann, also known as j-Beats, a beat producer from Leipzig who has been a close friend of mine for many years. Originally a spontaneous idea that was meant to become a radio show, we ultimately decided to start a podcast instead. We had never done anything like this before, and it was an absolute learning experience. Researching, developing topics, and most importantly, listening, became the core of the process. On our podcast, we talk about freelancing, producing beats, music, and a good dose of nerd talk.
Me & J-Beats, we’re not journalists, and we definitely don’t know the “proper” way to research anything. That was kinda the point. We wanted the challenge - mostly to talk more with the people we know… but don’t really know.
It jumps all over the place: music, video production, random small talk, and whatever thoughts are bouncing around in our heads that week. No script, no rules, just vibes. We started from absolute zero, and by the time we hit twenty episodes, we’d already learned a whole lot—about creating, about talking, about people, and about ourselves.
More to come. Always.

And yes, of course, we made plenty of mistakes along the way, but there are a few basic things that can help you if you want to turn your own crazy idea into reality.
1. Start with What You Have
You don't need expensive equipment to begin. Many successful podcasters start with just a smartphone and free editing software like Audacity or GarageBand. The key is to begin and improve as you go. buzzsprout.com
2. Plan Your Content
Outline your episodes in advance. Having a clear structure helps maintain focus and ensures your content is engaging. Consider your audience's interests and tailor your topics accordingly. Riverside
3. Prioritize Sound Quality
Good audio is crucial. Invest in a decent microphone and record in a quiet space. Even with a modest setup, clear sound can make a significant difference in listener retention. quillpodcasting.com
4. Be Consistent
Release episodes on a regular schedule. Consistency builds trust with your audience and helps grow your listener base over time. buzzsprout.com
5. Engage with Your Audience
Encourage feedback and interaction. Use social media, emails, or community platforms to connect with listeners. Their input can provide valuable insights and foster a loyal community.
